Having run The Master Chefs of Great Britain Modern Apprenticeship Scheme for four years and seen some tremendously talented young chefs qualify, the Executive Committee has decided to modify the scheme to open up the qualification to a greater number of young chefs.
This new enhanced scheme running under the name The Master Chefs of Great Britain Training Diploma and Advanced Training Diploma is open to all chefs training and working in an MCGB kitchen be it in a hotel/restaurant or within a college. The aim remains to ensure that young chefs gain an all round understanding of the catering industry and a sound and secure first step on the ladder of culinary excellence.
The scheme recognises and rewards the hard work and dedication required by any young chef who enters the catering trade at the top end of the market and the high level of skill they need to acquire.
The Master Chefs of Great Britain is delighted that the scheme has attracted support from both the public and private sectors.
